September, 2010
Dear Alumni,
The 2010-2011 school year is underway with a total of 419 students. SPN was one of the receiving schools when the Archdiocese of Baltimore closed several schools in the spring. We gave a new school home to over forty students from St. Rose and thirteen students from Ascension. I'm already receiving calls for enrollment into our preschool program for September, 2011. I think what makes our preschool program different from others in the area is that we offer a full day program with the option of using our before and after school program.
You don't realize it, but as an alumnus of the school, you play an important role in the life of St. Philip Neri School. When I talk to new families and ask them how they found out about our school, many of them say from former students or their families.
I invite all our alumni to help us recruit students for the 2011-2012 school year. Tell your families, friends and co-workers about our school and invite them to one or all of our Open Houses. Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 8:30-11:30 a.m., Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 10:30 a.m. to Noon, Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Or simply invite them to visit our website-www.st.philip-neri.org.
If you have some spare time and would like to give something back to your grade school, we are always looking for volunteers. If a sport is your thing, we have a SPN Sports Committee that meets once a month at 6 p.m. and over-sees our soccer, basketball, softball and cheerleading activities. If you're more a finance or advisor person, then think about joining either our Finance Committee or School Board. Both committees meet once a month from September to May.
If you would like more information about any of our committees, please feel free to contact the office at410-859-1212.
Sincerely,
Kate Daley
Principal
